We were on the brink of a staffing crisis at work on Friday when an awesome coworker stepped up to the plate to make sure my Saturday wasn’t the worst day at work ever. She is the best. To show my gratitude, I went home that night and made brownies. But not just any brownies… that would not be enough to get my point of how much I loved and appreciated her across. Thus, smores brownies were born. They were super easy to make and were so rich and delicious.
I started off with a double batch of my homemade brownie recipe. You can use the boxed stuff, but homemade really is so simple to throw together. You can make it ahead of time and store it in a mason jar. The flavor really is much better. Besides, people are always impressed when they find out it isn’t from a box. Other than that, I only used three other simple ingredients. They were all either on sale or clearance. Yea!
Once the brownies were out of the oven, I spread the entire tub of marshmallow fluff on them. Once that was a bit melty, I crumbled graham crackers on top. I lightly pressed the graham crackers into the fluff to ensure it didn’t just fall off when they were being eaten. It needed more, so I melted the Ghirardelli chocolate bar and added that. HEAVEN!
The result was a decadent amalgam of flavors. The brownie part was rich and creamy. The toppings make it out of this world. This is definitely going to make it into my rotation of treats to bring to work or family get togethers. It looks (and tastes) impressive and it was such a quick and easy dessert to throw together. The whole thing cost me about $6 to make, so it is budget friendly as well.
