What a fun day off I have had! I spent the day at my parent’s house making beauty supplies and goodies. I will post the recipes soon. I also made homemade laundry soap. I love Budget 101’s Recipe. If you are interested in trying your own, go check it out. It smells nice, is easy to contain and is a great stain fighter!

I also made an exciting project that I have been wanting to do for a while – magnified pendants. I bought the pendants at Michaels. They came packaged with the magnifying pieces you will need as well. It was very simple and took no time to finish. The key to getting it to look nice is evenly distributing your glue. For mine, I used hot glue. First, I cut out pieces of book to nicely fit in the pendants, using the magnifier pieces as a guide. I then put a bit of glue on the pendant and pressed the paper in. Once that set, I put an even layer of glue on the magnifier piece and stuck it on. I pressed firmly on the entire surface, trying to make sure there were no bubbles. That wasn’t totally successful, but I blame my speed on that. I went too slowly on my first try.

I also scored this cool ring when I was buying my pendants. It was on clearance for around $1. Woot Woot! It is by far my favorite piece. I just used one of the long magnifier pieces and saved the empty pendant for a future project.

I am not a huge fan of wearing costume jewelry, but this ring is unique enough that I might just have to go with it.
