Paper Project 3: Message in a Bottle Necklace
As soon as I started posting this, “Message in a Bottle” by the Police began playing in my mind. Unfortunately that is the only line to the song that I know. Now I’m just going to sing it until it annoys my husband. Insert mischievous emoticon here. Anyway, this is a super easy way to use an old book page! You only need a small piece and it doesn’t even need to have writing on it. The piece I used did have writing, but the print is rolled up inside so it isn’t even seen.
Start this project by measuring out a small piece of paper. Make sure it isn’t too tall for your bottle. I found my bottle on clearance at Michael’s. Yay! It was a two pack so I even have a bottle for another fun project down the road. You can also find them online at Joann’s. It is easiest to roll it up around something. I wrapped mine around a small knitting needle. I then cut a tiny piece of twine and secured it around the whole thing before sliding it off of the needle.
After that, just pop it in the bottle and secure the cork with a bit of glue. Attatch it to a cute chain and voila! Done and adorable!! I used a chain I found at a consignment store for $1. I love a good bargain.
